Over at The Nester she is hosting a great link party to share the goals for our homes this year. I thought it sounded like a fun idea and couldn't wait to join the party!
Before I get started with telling you what my home goals are for this next year I want to take a look back to show you what I have accomplished this year. I was actually really surprised when I was putting all of this together, I had no idea that I had completed so many projects! No wonder I felt so busy all the time this past year! I think it's safe to say that my house pretty much looks like an entirely different house. Are you ready for the tour? The transformations actually start before you even walk in the front door!
Next on the tour, walking through the door, is the entryway. This year it got a big makeover!
I love the stripes! The make me so happy every time I look at them.
Looking to the left is our living room. I think this might be my favorite transformation for the year. Looking at the pictures I can hardly believe it's the same room!
Here are the before pictures.
And here are the after pictures!
I love the gray color! I think it makes the room look so much brighter!
Take a closer look at the fireplace, it also got a facelift this year! It's pretty amazing what one can do with a can of stain. :)
Walking through the living room and dining room, the next stop on the tour of transformations is the kitchen! I'm torn between this and the living room as my favorite makeovers.
After the kitchen is the laundry room. I love love love this room now!
After the laundry room is our master bathroom. It's very small but this year it got a big makeover!
The last stop on our tour is Malea's room. This year her room went from plain to palace!
Pretty crazy isn't it!? But believe it or not there is still more to do. So now it's time for me to list my goals for this year.
#1 Paint the kitchen countertops. I have been wanting to do this ever since we painted the cabinets {but as you can see I've been busy} so this year it's at the top of my list! I am going to use the Rustoleum Countertop Transformation kit in Onyx. If I have enough I will probably do our bathroom counters too.
#2 Refinish the dresser my mother-in-law gave me. It currently houses all of my craft "stuff", so I love the extra storage, but it's crying out for a makeover!
Now if I could only decide on a color...
#3 Makeover our sad chandelier. I seriously hate this chandelier but don't have the money to splurge on a new one {some day}, so this year I want to transform this one!
#4 Build a bed frame for our master bedroom. I was so "over" our old bed frame so I sold it on Craigslist a few months ago. The only problem was that we've been so busy that we haven't had time to build a new one yet! So for the last few months our bed has been sitting on the floor. :( Here is the link to the one I want to build, it's from Ana White's website.
#5 Finish Malea's playhouse loft bed. Malea's new bed is amazing but it desperately needs to be painted! I know exactly what I want to do, I just need to actually do it now!

I'm sure there will be a hundred other projects that come up throughout the year but these are the goals that I definitely want to accomplish. :) Now you can see why I host a link party called the Weekend Warrior! Come join me every Monday and share your house projects with me and watch for my posts this year as I check these items off my Home Goals list!
