Chalkboard Frames

A month ago I found this great idea on Craft DIY.  I started out thinking I'd make chalkboards similar to theirs but then I found these great unfinished frames at Micheal's for only $1 each!

So I laid them all out and then spray painted them with chalkboard paint.  1 coat on the backside and 2 coats on the front.

While they were drying I ordered a bunch of pictures of Malea from Costco and had them printed.  Then that night I cut all the pictures to the frame sizes and put them in.  I picked pictures that were all silly ones because I thought the kids would like that more. :)

After I put the pictures in the frames a friend helped me decorate them all.  I'm going to have erasers and chalk at the party for the kids to decorate them but I thought it would be fun to have them second as cute decorations too!  I'm super excited, I think the kids are going to love them!

Such a fun and easy party favor!  What do you think?

  6. How fun, I just did something similar to these for my daughters birthday party. I found hand sized wooden heart shape cut outs at Michael's and used the chalkboard spray paint as well. They made cute chalkboards! And I put them in their goody bags with some candy. :)

I love this idea of doing the frames for them to decorate!
